Welcome and thanks for checking us out!  Our church family is made up of all ages and walks of life.  We're engineers, school teachers, janitors, scientists, stay at home moms, contractors, retirees, students, gardeners, Navy, Coast Guard, and more.  We are from lots of different communities throughout southeastern CT.   But one thing unites us, our desire to become and make disciples who love and serve Jesus Christ!

We are a family of believers in Jesus.  We trust Him to save us from our sins.  We study His word, the Bible, in order to know Him more deeply.  We come together to help each other along in our journey, to lift each other up when we fall, and to grow more and more in the grace of our Lord.  We hope you will come and join us!

Pastor Michael, a Pennsylvania native, accepted Christ in college. Michael earned his Master of Divinity and Master of Theology in 2005 at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 2006. Michael earned his Ph.D. in New Testament at Gateway Seminary in 2013. He taught 8 years as an adjunct professor at Gateway Seminary and is currently teaching New Testament online classes for the Rhode Island Seminary Extension Center.

Before coming to FBCW in April 2019 Pastor Michael served in roles such as full-time youth pastor, child and adult Sunday school teacher, young adult and adult small group leader, and others. He firmly believes that discipleship through Bible study is essential for growing up the body of believers. Pastor Michael takes Christ’s command to make disciples seriously. He desires for people to know who they are in Christ and serve him with passion.

Pastor Michael and his wife Jennifer have been married for 14 years.  They met at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. Michael is a huge Boston sports fan.  In his free time he enjoys playing golf and other sports, reading, watching movies, listening to music, drinking coffee, and walking Diva the family dog, a Welsh Pembroke Corgi.

Mike and his wife Christel have enjoyed attending FBCW for the past 25 years. The Christian experience here has been a big asset in helping them raise their three children as well as grow in their knowledge of and service to the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Mike enjoys being involved in men’s ministries when he is not building submarines, tending a large vegetable garden and pursuing his life long hobby of amateur radio. Mike and Christel were recently blessed with their first grandchild.  Please feel free to join them for donuts and coffee Sunday mornings.
